Flowers, 2002-2026The project began in 2002 around the desire to create a nod to Karl Bloosfeldt’s series “Urformen der Kunst”, questioning the status of photographic reference at the dawn of the 21st century.
The arrival of artificial intelligence in recent years does not modify the realization process that relies essentially on a composition game from fragments of images taken with an office scanner, diverted from its primary function. The objective: both to develop a kind of “camera obscura low-tech digital”, and to create a singular shooting condition insofar as this device guarantees an axis of shooting identical to that of the light source (which in no case allows the traditional photographic device).
The series “Flowers” has benefited from different exhibition opportunities, including an installation in the Bordeaux Botanical Garden in 2010 and a 3D relief film inspired by the series during the Nuit blanche 2011 in Paris (external links: 2 last images below).
