Union libre, 2015 This project revolves around the relationship between a collector, the public and the artist
In the scenario set up, the person who acquires the work is invited to a proactive participation: she or he selects a model from the photographic series “Flowers” which is then printed on 1000 bags in recycled paper. A photographic portrait is then dedicated to him with a copy of the bag on his head, in order to attach it to "his model of bag", while plunging it into anonymity.
During the exhibition, stacked in front of the portraits of the patrons, the bags are put in self-service for the public. The gradual stripping of the bags over time installs an imbalance, until the portraits eventually sit alone, in a scenographic stripping that becomes a central player in the project.
Union libre was presented as part of the inaugural exhibition of the APCd Foundation, “Hors Piste”, from 18 June to 19 September 2015.
